Wings over Encompass: Thunderbirds pilot visits local preschool
December 8, 2011 · 1:11 PM
U.S. Air Force Capt. Kristin Hubbard simulates the wingspan of her Thunderbirds jet formation for a combined preschool classroom on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the Encompass Main Campus.
Originally from Renton, Hubbard, one of many family members to visit Encompass on “Bring a Special Guest Day,” is based in Las Vegas and soon will be stationed with the rest of her elite flying corps in Italy.
She was visiting her sister, Anna Taylor (center in photo, holding sons and Encompass preschoolers Brandon, left, and Jacob), of Snoqualmie, for the Thanksgiving holiday. “It’s a good chance for the kids to see me in uniform,” she said, “and for my nephews to see that their auntie is proud of them.”
