David H. Redemann has received an Army ROTC scholarship at Ripon College, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Ripon, Wisc.

Redemann graduated in 2010 from Mount Si High School and is the son of Dave and Kori Redemann of North Bend.

Scholarships are awarded on a merit system in areas such as academic achievement, extracurricular activities, physical fitness, specific performance or accomplishment, leadership abilities, and personal interviews.  Scholarship recipients are enrolled as members of the Reserve Officer Training Corps of Cadets.

The scholarship entitlements include tuition and fees and an allowance of $600 per semester for educational assistance, textbooks, supplies and equipment, and a monthly stipend for up to 10 months of each school year during the first year at the host college or university.

Upon graduation from the host college and completion of the ROTC program, the student cadet receives a bachelor's degree and a commission of second lieutenant in the Army.  All scholarship students incur a military service obligation of eight years, which may be fulfilled by either serving on active duty or in the Reserve Components of the Army.
