Maiara Mendes and Scott McConkey were married Monday, April 18, in Issaquah. Maiara is the daughter of Djair and Angela Mendes of Fortaleza, Brazil, and Scott is the son of Steven and Lisa McConkey of North Bend.

Maiara is a graduate of the University of FIC in Fortaleza, where she received a bachelor's degree in advertising.  Scott is a 2005 graduate of Mount Si High School, and is currently completing his degree in engineering at Central Washington University.  The bride’s grandparents are Marta and Francisco Viana of Fortaleza, Brazil, and Claudenora Mendes and the late Djalma Mendes of  Sobral, Brazil. The groom’s grandparents are Max and Marilyn Healea of North Bend, Washington, and Richard and Virginia McConkey of Ellensburg.
