Cedarcrest cheerleader Sarah MacMillan wins state scholarship

Cedarcrest High School senior Sarah MacMillan was one of 15 cheerleaders in the state to win a $1,000 scholarship from the Washington State Cheer Coaches Association. MacMillan is the first ever Cedarcrest High School cheerleader to win this award.

The association awards over $15,000 per year. Criteria for this award includes a 3.0 grade-point average at the end of their junior year, a completed application, an essay, written recommendations from both teacher, coach and administrators, as well as a portfolio of pictures and awards depicting their time and dedication to the cheer squad.
