Former Mount Si High School student Alex Rudd was named to the President’s Honor List at Southern Oregon University for Fall 2010.

She joined 208 full-time students with a grade point average of 4.0 and minimum of 12 credits who qualified for the honors list.

Rudd, who was recruited to run cross country and track at Southern Oregon University, is majoring in communications. In addition to a busy class schedule, she recently finished her first collegiate cross country racing season, which culminated at the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Wash. Rudd earned her place on the varsity travel team, setting personal bests of 18:55 for the cross country 5K and 23:10 in the 6K during her freshman season. The SOU Raiders women’s team finished as the top Cascade Collegiate Conference team and seventh place overall at the national championship race. Rudd is looking forward to new challenges as she expands her track racing distance from her past favorite 3,200 to the 10,000 meter race.
