Seasonal storms have left many Valley residents with damaged branches, downed leaves and messy lawns. To help clean up, the city of North Bend has arranged for a special yard waste collection at the Public Works Shop, 1155 E. North Bend Way, on Nov. 29 from 12:30 to 4 p.m.

Bring branches and other yard materials and they will be taken free of charge. Wood should be cut into pieces no larger than 3 feet long and 3 inches in diameter.

To be eligible to dispose of yard waste at this collection, you must be a resident of North Bend and display your city utility/garbage bill stub. All yard waste must be in reusable containers or recyclable paper bags or cardboard boxes.

Acceptable yard waste includes grass, leaves, weeds, branches and limbs up to three inches in diameter and up to three feet long.

Yard waste that will not be accepted includes large branches, sod or dirt, rocks, concrete or asphalt, wood or stumps, trash or construction debris, manure, and plastic bags.
