Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank in North Bend was part of the CenturyLink Backpack Buddies Food Drive this summer, receiving nearly $1,000 in the employee donation drive.

In conjunction with matching funds from the CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation, company employees and local citizens contributed more than $740,000 to 24 food banks in the state. The Snoqualmie Food Bank received $918 from the effort.

“We are excited that we have helped food banks stock their shelves just as parents of children on free and reduced-price school lunch programs look to food banks for help,” said Sue Anderson, CenturyLink’s vice president of operations for Washington.
