NORTH BEND _ Customers of Drug Center Pharmacy in North
Bend can now fill their prescriptions with the simple click of a mouse.
The pharmacy, owned by John Marshall, has begun selling its
prescription and over-the-counter medications on the Internet
at www.drugcenterinc.com. The new Web site was designed specifically
for independent Valu-Rite pharmacies.
Through the Web site, customers will be able to order prescriptions
24 hours a day, as well as gain access to information about different
medications. The site also provides information about store hours, payment
methods and other pharmacy services. It incorporates a pharmacy locator,
information about member pharmacies and links to national
health-related organizations.
“Our patients and customers have told us that they appreciate the
convenience of ordering prescription refills and purchasing
[over-the-counter] products over the Internet,”
Marshall said. “However, our customers also
tell us how much they appreciate having a real pharmacist that knows them,
is available to answer questions and provide valuable information.
Now, through our Internet site, we can do both.”
The Web site was developed by McKesson HBOC Inc., one of
the nation’s leading providers of programs and services for independent
pharmacies. Its Internet program, called
“.com Pharmacy Solutions,” gives independent pharmacies, such as Drug
Center Pharmacy, the ability to design, build and maintain Web sites.
Marshall opened Drug Center Pharmacy, 484 E. North Bend
Way, in 1972. He has 28 years of experience as a pharmacist, while
pharmacist Barry Crosson, has 22 years of experience. For more information,
