Alaska Airlines announced the appointment of Stephen Jarvis to

staff vice president/e-commerce, a new position within the company's

marketing and planning department.

Jarvis, whose appointment was effective Nov. 30, will be

responsible for establishing the carrier's e-commerce strategy. His

responsibilities will include close work and

Jarvis joins Alaska from Seattle-based Destinations.com, an

online travel, services and software vendor, where he served as vice president

of e-commerce and acquisitions. At Destinations.com, he had

responsibility for that company's Internet business objectives, including

development, market research, consumer marketing and product management.

Steve has also held challenging positions with AT&T Wireless

Services, where he managed Internet partnerships and Web content;

Intermind Corporation; and Boeing, among others.

Jarvis holds a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering and

He and his wife reside with their son in Carnation.
