Carlson is promoted

North Bend City Councilman Ed Carlson was recently appointed as first vice president of Morgan Stanley, formerly Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, in Seattle.

Carlson is a financial adviser who offers stocks, bonds, mutual funds, retirement planning and money management services. He received the appointment for his successful contributions to the firm.

Carlson started with Dean Witter in 1990 in Wichita, Kan., then transferred to Seattle in 1991. He is in his fourth year on the City Council, and before that, spent one year on North Bend's Planning Commission.
