Westlake starts wireless store

Longtime Valley businessman Jim Westlake, prior co-owner of Frankie's Pizza in North Bend, is going in another direction on his road of business entrepreneurship. He has opened the doors of a wireless phone and service business called Velocity Wireless in North Bend.

At one stop, and in a matter of hours, homeowners and businesses can learn about all nationally advertised wireless plans for all carriers, and select a plan and have it activated at Westlake's site.

"We have three of the top wireless carriers under one roof," said Westlake. Businesses can also review plans and save money by consolidating several lines into one bill by using a shared-minute plan or group-calling plan which involve "buckets of minutes" for less expensive air time.

Westlake already has three employees working for him, including one doing outside sales.

His market can be anywhere in the state, but he is concentrating on the Upper Valley and Snoqualmie Pass and is busy "learning about coverage areas and what works where."

Velocity Wireless is located at 131 East North Bend Way.

Hours are Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Westlake can be reached at (425) 888-8255, or fax (425) 888-8360.
