Hospital staff earn board certifications

The Snoqualmie Valley Hospital District congratulates Patricia Yetneberk, DNP, who recently completed the American Academy of Pain Management (AAPM) board certification exam, and Nurse Practitioner Karen LaJambe, who earned her Geriatric Board Certification.

Yetneberk's certification will enable her to work with chronic pain patients who also have a co-existing addiction disorder or mental health issue.

“This population of patients is underserved in our health care system,” Yetneberk said. “Unless patients learn how to manage their pain, the problem of opioid prescription abuse will continue to escalate.”

LaJambe heads the Primary Care Clinic at Snoqualmie Valley Hospital. Her certification subspecialty helps assure that her growing numbers of older patients (the number of people 85 and older is expected to triple by 2020) receive some of the best care in the country.

"The focus of my practice is to provide optimum health for each patient and family based on their individual health goals and wellness ideals" said LaJambe.
