Double-A bond rating for Si View Metro parks district

In the process of issuing bonds for capital improvements, Si View Metro Parks District pursued a bond rating and was pleased to get an “AA” grade.

The national rating agency of Standard & Poor’s ranked the district, which is also refinancing 2009 bonds. The rating gives the district the ability to get better interest rates and save taxpayer money, Commissioner Linda Grez said.

Standard and Poor’s noted strong financials, property value growth and recent voter support as reasons for the rating.

The Unlimited Tax General Obligation Bonds will be underwritten by Martin Nelson & Company, a Washington investment banking firm, based in Seattle.
